I’m Drew Berryessa, founder of A Living Letter Ministries and a passionate speaker on the intersection of biblical sexuality, church culture, and the transforming power of truth and love. My personal journey has deeply shaped both my message and my calling. Having left homosexuality in 1996, I began sharing my story in 1999, driven by a desire to help others who were navigating similar struggles. In 2004, I began working full-time in a Christian ministry dedicated to discipling individuals seeking to bring their sexuality into alignment with biblical truth.

That same year, I married my wonderful wife, Suzanne, and together we’ve walked this road, side by side, seeking to honor Christ in every aspect of our lives. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of ministering to individuals, families, and church leaders, helping them understand how to respond to the complexities of sexuality in ways that reflect both biblical truth and Christ’s love.

In 2015, I founded A Living Letter Ministries to address the growing need for guidance on how churches can engage the culture surrounding sexuality with grace and conviction. In particular, I’ve worked closely with pastors and church leaders, helping them navigate the difficult conversations around LGBTQ+ issues within their own congregations and families. My own personal experiences have given me a unique perspective on how to live with biblical conviction while embracing the deep love of Christ for all people—whether in the church, the LGBTQ+ community, or anywhere in between.

I know the complexity that comes with these issues—having close family within the LGBTQ community, including my own identical twin brother. My journey hasn’t been easy, but it has been one of deep conviction, radical love, and a commitment to the truth of God’s Word. I believe Christians, and churches, must be equipped to engage with people and culture in a way that is both loving and truthful. This is where A Living Letter Ministries comes in.

My heart is to speak to church leaders, conservative politicians, and anyone grappling with how to approach biblical sexuality in today’s world. Through personal, engaging, and relevant talks, I aim to help individuals understand how to fully embrace truth and love in a way that honors Christ and speaks to the hearts of those who need it most.

If you are looking for a speaker who will not only challenge your thinking but also equip you with the tools and understanding needed to address these important issues in your church or ministry, I would love to come alongside you. Together, we can create a culture of compassionate engagement, biblical fidelity, and transformational love.

Wise, heartfelt and hilarious! So good!!

“This book is an incredible juxtaposition of humor, wisdom and heartfelt passages. I laughed and cried and was blessed as I read this. The author uses his own life story to illustrate truth of how God loves us, even if we struggle with issues that the Christian Church historically condemns. That our past sins do not define us. That God does not view us through our sin.”

Compassionate and Convicting.

“I learned many truths that convicted my soul to better reflect the heart of our Savior while unflinchingly standing for Biblical Truth. My heart aches for the wounds Drew personally received from his own Church family and rejoices in the triumph of his ultimate victory to repent and claim his real identity as a beloved son of God.”

Thoughtful Read.

“This is such a great book. This book has insight that will just get you thinking, if not, reconsidering any negative views on the church and sexuality. It also has such a different writing style that makes you think the author is speaking to you directly or in a conversational way.”

“We would all do well to ask ourselves: Does the way I live out and communicate marriage and sexuality help people move closer to God or does it create additional barriers and push people farther away from Him?”
